BLU-RAY TUESDAY: Danny Boyle's 'Trance' Leads Quiet Week For Blu-Ray New Releases

With no major studio releases set to street this Tuesday, audiences however can choose between a few new titles that only received limited exposure beyond the Toronto International Film Festival and a handful of independent markets.

Director Danny Boyle is prominently known for his use of vivid color palettes featured in 2008 Best Picture winner, Slumdog Millionaire and 2010 Best Picture nominee, 127 Hours. His latest psychological caper, Trance is equally stylized while audiences delve deep into the mind of an art auctioneer (James McAvoy), whose memories are the key to locating a misplaced piece of art.

Trance also stars Rosario Dawson as a hypnotist and Vincent Cassel as a thief responsible for the art heist. Trance is released as a Blu-Ray, Digital Copy, UltraViolet combo pack from 20th Century Fox.

Also distributed this week from 20th Century Fox, 2011 thriller film Twixt, directed by Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather) makes its way to Blu-Ray. Val Kilmer (Batman Forever) stars as a declining writer, who finds himself mixed up in the murder investigation of a little girl. Twixt also stars Elle Fanning (Super 8) and is released as a Blu-Ray, UltraViolet combo pack.

Vehicle 19 stars Paul Walker (Fast & Furious 6) as foreign traveler who crosses paths with a corrupt police department after being picked up in a rental car. Vehicle 19 is distributed by Ketchup Entertainment and is released as a single Blu-Ray disc.
