Vampires, crime dramas and a return of the "Governator" himself lead the pack in this week's heavily loaded list of new releases. While no major blockbusters are making their way to Blu-Ray yet for a few more weeks, home media audiences can still check out top new releases including Beautiful Creatures, Parker, Side Effects, The Last Stand and True Blood Season 5.
First up from Warner Bros. is Beautiful Creatures, based on the Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl romantic fantasy novel of the same name. Beautiful Creatures isn't here to be the next groundbreaking young adult book-to-film adaptation, but the film wrap still manages to wrap elements of the Deep South, forbidden love and dark magic into a stylistic cinematic interpretation.

Jason Statham's crime thriller, Parker also finds itself on Blu-Ray this week. Teaming up with Jennifer Lopez, Statham headlines Parker as a professional thief looking for revenge on his former cohorts who double-crossed him.

For the last couple of years, every time Steven Soderbergh finishes directing another one of his movies, he claims it to be his last. Yet here we are with his latest ensemble-driven psychological drama Side Effects. Side Effects brings together the talents of Jude Law, Channing Tatum, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Rooney Mara. Distributed by Universal Pictures, Side Effects is released as a Blu-Ray, DVD, Digital Copy, UV combo pack.
Also not hanging up his career is former California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger. In The Last Stand, Schwarzenegger returns to the big screen in his first lead role in nearly a decade. As a small-town sheriff, Schwarzenegger goes to war against a drug lord with his eyes set on retreating across the border to Mexico. The Last Stand is distributed by Lionsgate as a Blu-Ray, DVD, UV Digital Copy combo pack.
The final major release comes from the latest season of the hit HBO series, True Blood. Season 5 covers the 2012 episodes and is based on the fifth book of The Southern Vampire Mysteries series.
