BLU-RAY TUESDAY: 'Cloud Atlas,' 'Texas Chainsaw' Look to Find New Audiences on Blu-Ray

If you don't find success in theaters, there's always a second chance on DVD and Blu-Ray. That statement holds true to both of this week's top new releases, Cloud Atlas and Texas Chainsaw 3D.

First up is Lana and Andy Wachowski's Cloud Atlas, an ambitious adaptation of the David Mitchell novel by the same name, which interlocks six narratives from six separate time periods. With top name actors, Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugo Weaving and a slew of others unable to draw audiences in on star power alone, Cloud Atlas exploits its complicated story to craft a story of intrigue and epic magnitude.

Distributed by Warner Bros., Cloud Atlas is released as a Blu-Ray, DVD, UV Digital Copy combo pack.

Also released is the unintentionally comedic Leatherface flop, Texas Chainsaw 3D. As the retconned sequel to the 1974 classic, Texas Chainsaw 3D follows Leatherface's cousin (Alexandra Daddario) and her friends as she returns to the old homestead to collect her inheritance. But with the chainsaw-wielding maniac running amok, expect a hefty body count before it's all said and done.

From Lionsgate Films, Texas Chainsaw 3D comes out in a Blu-Ray 3D, Blu-Ray,  UV Digital Copy combo pack.

Last month's "Showcase of the Immortals," WWE Wrestlemania XXIX also comes out today on Blu-Ray. Headlined by The Rock vs. John Cena rematch that disregarded the "Once in a Lifetime" tagline the previous year, this 29th iteration includes CM Punk vs. The Undertaker with the streak on the line and a No Holds Barred match between Triple H and UFC alum Brock Lesnar.
