Without much resistance Cobra took command over the White House this past spring, now the villainous organization has its sights on the home media market as G.I. Joe: Retaliation makes its way to Blu-ray this Tuesday. Also scheduled for release are Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season 4 and Star Trek: The Next Generation - Redemption.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation is the sequel to 2009's cartoonish G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, featuring old and new Joes who have been targeted by the terrorist organization Cobra, who have infiltrated and assumed absolute control over the United States government. Roadblock (Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson), Snake Eyes (Ray Park) and Lady Jaye (Adrianne Palicki) are a few of the Joes who survived Cobra's extermination and band together to seek vengeance on the evil group.
G.I. Joe Retaliation is released on Blu-ray by Paramount Pictures in various formats and exclusives depending on retailer. The standard edition is packaged as Blu-ray, DVD, Digital Copy, UltraViolet combo pack, while the 3D version adds an additional disc for the Blu-ray 3D. Walmart's 3D version is housed in steelbook packaging, Target's exclusive includes a bonus disc and alternative packaging and Best Buy is selling the extended cut of the film minus the 3D.
Warner Bros. streets their latest DC Comics animated film, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox starring The Flash, Batman and Wonder Woman in alternate reality adventure. The Flashpoint Paradox is available as a Blu-ray, DVD, UltraViolet combo pack. Best Buy is selling an exclusive of the animated feature which includes a mini-figure.
Paramount Pictures releases two new Star Trek sets for this Tuesday including Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season 4 and Star Trek: The Next Generation - Redemption. Season 4 is a 6-disc set featuring all 26 episodes from the 1990-91 season including the second half of the Borg cliffhanger 'Best of Both Worlds' and the season finale, 'Redemption I.'
But for fans not wanting to wait a few more months for Season 5 to be released with the other half the 'Redemption' two-parter, Paramount is also releasing a standalone set featuring both episodes as a seamless feature like 'Best of Both Worlds' a few months ago. Star Trek: The Next Generation - Redemption is released on one disc.
